Friends?

Okay, enough with the bats already! I did want to post this piece, though. (From this sketch.)

Incidentally, the second bat tested negative for rabies. And we've gone around and bat-proofed the house as best we can. (But, come on, an old house has lots of holes...) At least we know they're not nesting in the attic-- both were random.

Here's our next homebuilding project.

wow i disappear for a week and your blog looks brand new...love the new masthead, new avatar and this little painting! i really like the bat paintings because they are more than imagined pieces...you've experienced bats up close and personal! the colors are fabulously jewel-like! cool new project...we've got old iron ore caves near here that are now bat caves. they put prison like bars across the front so people can't go in and even welded a metal bat cutout on them. once a year they give a tour of the park (it's landlocked and you can't access it) and take you back to them, although you can't go in. it's cool and eerie!

Thanks, Christine! I've been meaning to play with the look for a while-- just takes time. Those bat caves sound cool! I'd love to see them sometime.
